Due to the connection, we do not generate energy ourselves like we would with wood chips, but rely on the environmentally friendly district heating from the Erlanger municipal utility. Erlanger Stadtwerke compensates for the CO2 produced by planting trees, setting up solar and wind farms and supporting people in emerging and developing countries. This means that district heating is now certified climate-neutral.
